Red lips with NARS’ Luxembourg Satin Lip Pencil

DSC_0002 Hi! I recently found out that NARS cosmetics were available in Luxembourg, so as soon as I could I went to the Sephora store in the Auchan Mall at Kirchberg to have a look at the collection. The counter is yet very small, but it’s still better than nothing (if I’m not wrong, the girl told me that the closest NARS shop/counter was in Strasbourg. Let’s not complain).I didn’t know what to choose so I started to swatch the NARS Sheer Glow foundations which I madly wanted to try. As they cost (I think) € 25, I didn’t want to buy a bottle and then end up with the wrong color. Plus, there were three shades that looked similar to my skin tone, so I asked if I could get a trial of the three shades. I picked up Fiji, Punjaband Montblanc.

I was also interested in the Copacabana Illuminator, but they only had Orgasm… THE most wanted product with the Orgasm blush… Now that I have seen it in real, I can say that it’s not that precious in my opinion. The name is justifies for its fame… I went over to the lip pencils. They only have the Satin Lip Pencils and the Velvet Matte Lip ones. As a Luxembourg resident, the decision was quite obvious to me: I naturally picked the Satin Lip Pencil in the color Luxembourg!

Here is the look I suggest with this lip pencil.

After I had moisturized my skin and had applied the Zoeva eye primer on the lid, I put on some Benefit Pore-Fessional on the forehead and the cheeks in order to minimize the pores and also my acne scars. Then I apply with a humid Beauty Blender a first layer of NARS Fiji foundation. While I was waiting for it to penetrate my skin, I went over to the eyes.

As there is a lot going on, on the lips, I wanted the eyes as light as possible. I apply the color “Buck” on the lid and “Naked”in the crease, both from the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette. Then I highlighted the brow bone with Makeupgeek’s Vanilla Bean (click here for a detailed review on Makeupgeek’s eyeshadows). In order to give the eye a little definition and to intensify it, I applied with an angled brush a very thin line of a black eyeshadow very close to the lash line, both the upper and bottom line. I choseCorrupt by Makeupgeek. I finished the eye by applying the Benefit They’re real mascara (click here for review). And the eyes were done!

I went back to the skin to apply a second layer of the NARS Fiji foundation and covered some little spots and under my eyes with the La Roche-Posay concealer, from the Toleriane teint line. I defined the brows with my KIKO Eyebrow Expert Styling kit (click here for the review) and covered them with the Make Up Designorybrow fix gel. I put a little L’Oréal Nude Magique BB Powder on the T-zone, a little Shiseido bronzer to sculpt the face and NXY Peach blush on the apples of my cheek. I finished the face by applying a little Whisper of Guilt highlighter by MAC over the cheekbones and on the Cupid’s bow.

Finally, I finished the look by applying the Luxembourg Satin Lip Pencil.

I have worn it a couple of times and I have to say that I don’t like it, I love it! The color aside, this product is creamy, hydrating, shiny (but too much), easy to apply and long lasting. It’s not heavy on your lips such as when you wear a gloss. It glides on so easily on the lips when applying. It moistures the lips while you are wearing it. I definitely recommend this product and cannot wait to purchase a new shade!

Thank you for your time. Greetings from Luxembourg!
