Look: Pink Lilac

Pink lillaHi! Here I am with another look. Since purple is again ‘en vogue’, I thought I might do a makeup with this color. Purple is a beautiful color that goes with every eye color and in my opinion, it one of the few colors with brown and green that goes with my eye color.

The look I did is very colorful: the lid is purple of course and I added pink in the crease. Plus all the colors are shimmery except for the color “Naked” that I used as a transaction color between the pink crease and the brow bone. It is clearly a night look. I think it would be appropriate for the Carnival season, but also for any festive occasion and definitely for the summer.

As usual, when I do “heavy” (even if it’s not heavy at all) eyes, I (try to) keep the skin and lips as neutral as possible. However, as I wanted to have a dewy skin, I thought this might be the occasion to use my most beloved Miss Liberty blush/highlighter by NARS which I love!

Here’s the step by step!

Once I had put the Zoeva eye primer on the entire lid, I used a second base i.e. the N.Y.X. jumbo pencil in the color Milk again on the entire lid. Now you might say that two bases are too much, however I tried to apply the eyeshadows immediately right after I had put on the Zoeva eye primer, but the color didn’t show. For as much as I love Zoeva cosmetics, the eyeshadows of their Ultra Shimmer palette are too powdery and not pigmented enough if you apply them right over their eye primer. I bought this palette two years ago and I know they’ve changed quite a lot of things starting from the logo and the brushes; maybe they have also changed the formula of this palette. If it’s not the case and if someone at Zoeva Cosmetics is reading this: please change your formula!

Back to the step-by-step of the eye look as the skin prep is the same as usual except that I used a bronzer from the Zoeva Sun Power Palette (see picture below).

For the lilac color, I actually mixed two blue-purplish colors from the above mentioned palette. You will also see below the colors in the palette marked with an –x on the left and right row. I mixed the four colors together until I got the color I wanted and blended the edges.

Once the lids were done, I applied the pink colors in the crease until there was no line to be seen between the lid and the crease. I then took the eyeshadow “Naked” from Urban Decay’s Naked 1 palette and blended upwards. Finally I highlighted the brow bone with Makeupgeek’s Vanilla Bean.

In order to define the lash line, I draw a fine line using the Makeupgeek’s Amethyst gel liner.

To finish, I applied the shame eyeshadows on the lower lash line, the mascara and that was it.

Thank you for your time!
